SUSTAINABILITY

While we’re not perfect, we are driven to making changes today that aid in preserving our planet for tomorrow. We care deeply about the impact our business has on the environment, the people working in our factories and our customers so here’s where we stand today, knowing this is a constantly evolving process of education and implementation.

LONGEVITY

Each Amāre piece is finished using the highest quality materials and using production focusing on craftsmanship.  Instead of doing seasonal collections we are developing and launching pieces that all have a timeless appeal and are designed to be worn for years and not only a moment in time.  We take our time to develop the best version we can of a style and release it when it’s ready for a more mindful and responsible approach to clothing production.

LIMITED QUANTITIES

We launch new styles, colours and prints in small quantities only re-ordering styles as required to reduce unnecessary waste and limit our environmental impact. We evaluate the demand and try to serve it as precisely as possible.

By limiting production (and this includes the production of our garments as well as our fabrics) we are ensuring our makers meet ethical wage criteria and working conditions and that environmental standards are respected.  

NATURAL FIBRES

We primarily (95% of our collections) work with textiles made from natural fibres which means they are biodegradable. We source exceptional quality 100% silk, 100% cotton, 100% linen & 100% cashmere and our leather is ethically sourced.

Our long-term suppliers located in Jiangsu Province PRC hold the following certifications:

Our Dye Mill
- Successful completion of ‘Supplier to Zero’ for sustainable chemical management.
- Certified by OEKO-TEX® for dying and finishing of fabrics which assesses chemical management, environmental performance, environmental management, social responsibility, quality management and safety.

Our Print Mill
- Certified by Intertek to be conforming with the Global Organic Textile Standard 6.0 for printed fabrics (PC0039), pre-treatment (PR0021), printing (PR0023), finishing (PR0012), warehousing (PR0031) and washing (PR0032).
